How to report
Title IX is a federal civil rights law that protects individuals from discrimination based on sex in education programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance. At Lotus School for Excellence, Title IX applies to both students and employees and supports equal access to educational and employment opportunities.
Title IX concerns may include sex-based discrimination, sexual harassment, certain forms of sexual violence, and discrimination related to pregnancy or parenting status.
Sexual Harassment
Sexual harassment may include unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature, certain forms of harassment that interfere with a person’s ability to participate in school or work, and other conduct covered under Title IX, including:
- Sexual assault
- Dating violence
- Domestic violence
- Stalking
Sex Discrimination
Sex discrimination may occur when a person is treated differently or denied equal access to a school program, activity, service, or employment opportunity because of sex. This may involve areas such as academics, athletics, extracurricular activities, school programs, or employment.
Pregnancy and Parenting Protections
Title IX also provides protections related to pregnancy, childbirth, related medical conditions, and parenting status. Lotus School for Excellence is committed to ensuring that eligible students and employees are not excluded from educational or employment opportunities because of pregnancy or related circumstances.
