Vision

All gifted students will receive rigorous, culturally inclusive, evidenced-based academic and affective educational opportunities to develop their exceptionalities, leading to fulfilling and productive lives.

Mission

To provide evidence-based support to Administrative Units related to the implementation of ECEA gifted education rules and state statute to ensure equity and opportunity for every gifted student, every step of the way.

  • Be passionate about your talent area without apologies.
  • Have an identity beyond your talent area.
  • Feel good about your accomplishments.
  • Make mistakes.
  • Seek guidance in the development of your talent.

  • Not to be gifted at everything.

About me

Ms. deCocq has worked as a Gifted and Talented specialist and teacher since 2010, in both Utah and Colorado. She has worked with a wide span of grades, from 3rd up through 12th grade, holds a Level 2 teaching license in the state of Utah, and holds a Professional Teacher license in the State of Colorado. Ms. deCocq received her Gifted and Talented endorsement (certification) in 2012, and earned her M. Ed (specialization in curriculum development) in 2010. Growing up in GT programs herself, she is passionate about the importance of meeting the educational and social/emotional needs of gifted students and of neurodivergent students throughout their school career and beyond.
